I had the craziest interview with HHC Marketing (Broadway marketing and promotions firm) yesterday.

One of the questions the interviewer asked me was “Ok, so there is a hypothetical irish play, not musical who needs marketing. Where would you market it and how would you market it?” (more…)

The new Phantom, Ramin Karimloo, playing in London’s The Phantom of the Opera is keeping a diary of the cast’s rehearsal process and performances. He also says he is going to try to post some pictures as well. For anyone who is crazy about Phantom (like me =)), this is a great way to get the insights into the ins and outs of The Phantom of the Opera. Access Ramin’s blog by going to www.phantomoftheopera.com and clicking on “News and Reviews”. Enjoy!

For all those Rent-heads out there (wait, just me? ok, whatever. I wanted to post this anyway):

Adam Pascal, the original Roger in both the Broadway show and the movie, and Anthony Rapp, the original Mark in both the Broadway show and the movie, are reprising their roles on Broadway until October 7. Not sure if tickets are still available, but it might be worthwhile to check as these guys are freakin’ awesome! Also on the Broadway run of Rent is Tamyra Gray from American Idol, who is also probably very worth seeing in action!

I saw The Drowsy Chaperone on Broadway today. It was an uproaringly funny show, every character being a comedic relief of some sort. The show begins with a man sitting in his apartment playing his favorite musical on record: The Drowsy Chaperone.

I found this written on (vandalizing an) ad at a subway stop on 49th (word for word):

“It’s hard to tell someone you love them especially when you’re sure that love is finite like when you see a weed growing between the cement blocks of sidewalk and just feel sorry because it will never grow.”

I have internet! Praise the Lord! Finally! is all I have to say.

The past week has been a pretty good one. Last weekend I took it upon myself to paint my entire apartment by myself. Needless to say, I will never be doing that again. In one night, I broke two vases, a lamp, my vacuum and got blood on my carpet. Next time I say I want to paint, TELL ME NO! Anyways, it looks pretty good. I like it a lot although I am not sure it was worth all the blood, sweat and tears.

I had two interviews this week. One with Corcoran Real Estate Group as a Public Relations Assistant and the other with Institutional Investor News as a Marketing Assistant. I think both interviews went well, although I almost missed the first one by going to the second one first! I had to run back on the 4,5,6 train and get up to 59th. I made it just in time!

July 19: Bright eyed and bushy tailed crew finally get on the road in a white minivan and big yellow truck a little after 8. Two of the most unlikely of friends were destined to play follow the leader for the next three days. Meggi proceeds to immediately fall asleep and stay that way until stopping for lunch. Those of you who know her will understand Allison’s pain and suffering. Lunch was at a rest stop in God knows where. Actually it was a very nice place and I am sure it is fun and exciting, but we were not there long enough to find out anything but how well the bathrooms worked and the state of the picnic tables. After lunch, Meggi falls asleep. Big surprise. Randy and Cheryl valiantly drive the big yellow truck along its way and Bob and Chris play DJ for Allison, while Meggi still sleeps in the seat next to her. Calling it a day, we stopped for the night in Ohio (just past Columbus). Dinner was a roarin’ good time at the Chile’s down the street. While the men jaunted off for an adventure to find foam for the lovely bench seat of the truck, the ladies proceeded to order wine. Period. (more…)
